Grab your cowboy boots and cowboy hat, the rodeo is coming Oklahoma City this coming Spring.
Mayor Mick Cornett and other officials met at the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum" today to announce the news.
The Professional Rodeo Cowboy Association's 25th Annual National Circuit Finals Rodeo will be held at that Sklahoma State Fair Grounds in March and April of next year.

The Oklahoma City press has been having fun with the news that Boeing ( BA ) plans to relocate two major defense programs from Long Beach, Calif., to their town -- calling it a reverse Grapes of Wrath , a reference to the Depression-era exodus of "Okies" to hopefully better jobs and futures in the Golden State.

It's an ambitious plan to turn the streets of downtown Oklahoma City into a race track and it could soon become a reality.
Grand Prix Oklahoma City is leading an effort to bring the American Le Mans Series to downtown.
"Watching the city transform from what it was 20 years ago to what it is now through the sports market has been truly spectacular and I believe we're just that next piece," said Trent Ward, Grand Prix Oklahoma City CEO.

Oklahoma City emerged in March as a potential new host to the American Le Mans Series next year, and the city council is set to conduct a vote Aug. 31 that will go a long way to determining the future of the proposed street race.
The council will consider whether or not to accept a letter of intent with OKC Grand Prix LLC.
According to a report published Saturday by The Oklahoman , the race would need $6.9 million from taxpayers to cover upfront capital expenses.

After months of negotiations, the Oklahoma City council is set to vote on a deal that would bring a Grand Prix race to downtown for at least the next five years.
Mayor Mick Cornett said Friday the vote on the city's contract with Oklahoma City Grand Prix LLC will be Tuesday morning and that while he's hopeful it will be approved, it's not certain that it will be.
